Abstract
Victor Slavescu was and will remain a personality with special academic, legislative and applied contributions at the level of public, financial-banking and academic institutions, being in permanent contact with all systemic problems of the country. Moreover, following studies conducted abroad, he was part of the generation of specialists in the country, from which he expected both a direct scientific contribution, but especially a direct involvement in the implementation of reforms in the period 1920–1944.
In this paper we aim to reflect the contributions and involvement of Victor Slavescu in supporting land loans between 1920 and 1944, contributions that can be extremely beneficial in the sustainable development of the mountain economy, especially in the context in which two major concepts are currently reflected economic development, namely the collaborative economy and the green economy, and land credit as defined at that time can be a real source of inspiration for current generations of financiers involved in supporting and developing credit for sustainable rural development.
